Oxidative Stress, have you heard this term?

It been a journey wrapping my head around oxidative stress and all it means to my body. Basically anything we do, eat, or breath leads to oxidative stress. Its our bodies inability to keep up with the damage occurring, causing oxidative damage, that is damage to our proteins, our molecules, and our genes.
I have always been the person to pick that piece of candy off the floor, and say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and pop it in my mouth... 5 second rule. I still believe this is true, a little germage here and there helps our body build its defenses, but from what I have learned there is a lot more to our bodies building its defenses. Our bodies use energy (namely mitochondria) to fight these defenses and what does energy cause, stress on our bodies.
Exercise, over exerting ourselves, pushing our bodies to the limit (whether physically or mentally) can cause damage, because it causes stress on our bodies. Though in other regards we need exercise so its not as if we can give it up all together, it helps maintain a healthy weight, it decreases the chance of high blood pressure or diabetes, all good things. Though in the process we are still damaging our body, breathing in general creates oxidation, and damage to our cells.
Factually almost anything we do causes oxidation in our bodies, we eat processed foods, our body has to take care of the crap in these foods and that causes oxidation, stress, and damage in our bodies. We breath toxic air, from the exhausts in engines or while pumping our gas, or some people in their work, where they have to go every day. Sadly in many cases people live near the problem, whether it be plantations or toxic water systems... our bodies need help. BUT regardless if we avoid these things, live in the country, breathing fresh air, purifying our water, and eating organic, our bodies still age, our cells still oxidize.
Oxidative stress can be linked to almost all illness and diseases... I've read study after study! You can go to www.pubmed.gov and type in "Oxidative Stress" and "Your illness or disease of choice" and there will be literature on Oxidation and the damages that occur. As you can see if you click the link there are nearly 200,000 peer reviewed studies on Oxidative Stress, and in recent years more and more have been done!
Check out this photo, its listing what well known diseases, or illness, or issues that are directly linked to oxidative stress. Every living organism has oxidative stress. Take a look because I guarantee you know someone who is suffering.

Check out my other posts to learn my thoughts through researching, free radicals, mitochondria, Protandim (the little yellow pill), Lifevantage, Doctors Reviews, and anything that comes to my mind about our cellular health and what I have learned!
Thanks for reading.
